Just to tag along, for those that are interested, the country's English name "China" was actually derived from the ceramic tableware "chinas". The first china ware exports to Europe were made from a chinese town called "Chang Nan", which was then roughly translated into "China" by Europeans. The term was susequently used to name the pottery imports and the country as well.
