  • I finally bought a CD burner...

FINALLY! Geez, after all this time I felt like the only person on earth with 256k ADSL and no burner, I went out and bought myself one, a Samsung 52x24x52x CD-RW, for only 70$
Works great and after a quick installation I was burning CDs...finally I can get the 600+ songs here off the PC and onto CDs...

    Anyone else still burner-less?

I am still burner less, but I recently bought myself a digital camera so now I will HAVE to buy a burner. For the next few weeks/months I will be using my fathers burner to get the pictures on cd.

Well I had a burner but I've had SO much bad luck those says that the power source of my PC melted for an unknown reason (I have electric regulator and stuff) so it sent a bad ray to the motherboard which burned a chip (which hopefully wasnt really important as it is still working), that chip sent that ray to the burner and there it died....I am burner-less by now, but will get another as soon as I can.

I managed to sell the lens of the dead one though

I have a CD burner on my computer, but its never been used. I downloaded Kazaa on my old computer and got a virus that wrecked the whole system, I'm not trying that again.

Now you can burn all the music you want. I've spent in two years about $60 on CD's, I just download what I like and burn it. Blank CD's are alot cheaper then buying a prerecorded CD.

                    JeffinDen:

yeah thats what happened, believe ir or not. And was no funny at all.
The power source didnt exactly melt, just some cables that made that thing happen, with ray I mean an electric discharge, thats all.

And yeah, I sold the lens, cuz what got damaged from the burner was some kind of important chip, the lens were undamaged.
                    whatever....

With the price of CD Burners so low ($55 AUS) they really are a consideration for anyone with a PC .. DVD Burners are now under $500 AUS as well so they're also a good buy.

I've had a DVD Burner for about a year now and it's fantastic for backing up all our photographs. Well worth the money IMO.

Getting new stuff is always cool though isn't it

LOL! But be careful to always shut your PC down correctly! I was close to wrecking mine not long ago - had to put the HD into another comp, replace mup.sys, run scandisk, re-configure LAN gear and it did the trick. Phew!
