Sun is shining, for the first time in around a week, after more or less continuous rain, with temperatures slowly, but steady going doing in direction of the freezing point.
Nonetheless, wheather experts expect the mildest winter in decades, or in other words, hardly any snow . Dammit, I want snow, and lots of it!
Its going to be a major adjustment moving from a place that averages around 150" of snow a year to one that averages 2" annualy! Hopefully I can be back up there in '07.

Here in central Germany, we had the equivalent of Indian Summer for the past 10 days. Sunny, dry, calm and daytime highs between 17 and 22 degrees Celcius. Leaves changing colour, awesome time of year. All that changed about two days ago. Only ten degrees with showers now.
It has been a very mild fall here at MSP and our fall temperatures have continued to be much above normal. We are into November and still haven't had a killing freeze here. Yesterday evening we were around 50F with rain falling.
We already have passed the previous record by several days for the days between the last killing freeze of the spring and the first killing freeze of the fall and this record spell likely will continue for at least a few more days.

This happened last night probably less than 50 miles from my city.
I woke up at 5 in the morning to the most intense thunder and lighting I've ever seen or heard in my entire life. I had the blinds closed and I could still see the lighting bolts through the window. I didn't hear any sirens around here so I went to sleep again (or tried) after I fell out of bed.
And for those who can't read that:
