What happened to that fabulous coupe?
It disappeared without replacement sadly. Yes, it is a beautiful car. There ist the BMW Z8, though. Also a really good-looking vehicle but quite expensive.

and why have BMW's turne dso ugly
Ask Mr.Bangle . Yeah, I hate looking at these monstrosities on the streets (and I live in Munich!!) because they really hurt the eyes. How can someone build something that ugly?

I love the look of the new BMWs. Are the ones you guys don't like not in America yet or do we just have different tastes?

Pop quiz: Which US president said, "Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the Iraqi people, but on developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them."
George W. Bush is not correct. It was Bill Clinton in his 1998 State of the Union speech. HMMMMMMMMM.

Well, for starters as a comparison, old 8:

        versus new 8:

Let's just say that BMW is trying to be more mainstream, and over trying to be that has lost its typical classy lines.
And to further prove it, oldvsnew 6:

Same here! The current BMW fleet is the hottest non-exotic car line on the road, in my opinion.

The third photo looks like thats of a 3 series, its not a 6 series which was discontinued in the late 80's or early 90's.

That happens when you rely on Google to give you appropriate pics . But regardless, I guess you can see the point of BMW dropping their classic shape in favor of mainstream round lines.

Well, luckily there are different tastes but I stay with my opinion that the whole new "design concept" is massively ugly.

Why else do you think that BMW already face-lifted their 7 series? Yep, it wasn't accepted by the public. Therefore I don't think the new design is "more mainstream" but they wanted to try something new. And in my opinion this is the wrong way.

See how they didn't dare to play games with their mass-models like the 5 or 3 series? Compared to the 7 or 6 they are quite "normal". Well, here is a picture of the old 6:

Now there is a small manufacture making some radical conversions of off-the-line cars and their version of the ne BMW 6 looks like this:

In my opinion this is how BMW should have built the car. It looks so much more beautiful and harmonious than that ugly beast they produce.

I like the new one way more in this case also. The old one looks like it came form the 1980's.

This is because it actually IS from the 80's!

exactly. I thought people would catch the sarcasim there. I guess not. The new design is for today's tastes, not those of the 80s.
