Pender was accused of murdering Anton Nauer, 22, with a crossbow. Pender's counsel, Doug Taffs, argued that Pender acted in self-defence after Nauer threatened him with num-chukkas in a confrontation outside Pender's home early on December 19 last year.

Last night Pender was found not guilty of murder.
Interesting scenario, and I think it could make an interesting discussion, on when has Self Defence been taken to far?
    Opinions, thoughts etc?

    um... what's a num-chakka?

But a crossbow... wow, that's a a rare "weapon" of self defence.
You want to get the bad guy first before he gets you, so the determining factor should be the motive and action of the "bad guy" before he gets killed, but I guess that's the tricky part...

Those two sticks joined by a chain? ... I've heard them called by several variants of the word. Wether they are correct or not, I wouldn't know.
