  • A few pics from the weekend...

Well, as some of you know, (and most of you don't), I took a trip up to Syracuse this weekend to visit some relatives, admire the University and the city, and watch a football game. These are a few of the pictures I took summarizing the weekend...

Upstate New York in October, taken from a US Airways Express (Mesa) CRJ-

View of some of the fall colors on approach to SYR-

One of my favorite shots of all that I have ever taken. This is of one of Syracuse University's landmark buildings-

More pics of the Syracuse campus-

A crowd of 42,217 spectators crowded the Carrier Dome to watch the 1-6 Syracuse Orange become 1-7...

    Hope you enjoyed them!

    Nice pictures.

Are the football pictures taken from the same seats?

Nice shots herpa2003. It's a pity you zoomed in on the players and not the cheerleaders.

        a little off topic, but...

The architectural style of this building is very similar to Queen's Park (Ontario's provincial legislature). I wonder if it was built by the same company

Thanks! And yes, they are taken from the same seats.

I know, I know. But, if it makes you feel better, there was a football player last year who quit the team and became a male cheerleader. Smart move, instead of grabbing flubbery guys he gets a nice view from below of Syracuse's finest females...

Hmm....Well, I'll have to look that up and then I'll let you know!

Now you got me hooked. Can you please post a picture of the building YOU'RE talking about, just for having something to compare with. Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah, I made it to Watertown for about 20 minutes; we decided to drive around and see our old place on our way up to Fort Drum. Good times.

                  cool shots!

Its a P&S, nothing special but it was the best I could afford at the time that I bought it (about 2 years ago). Fuji S5000 I think.

This is the best I can find now:

Now that I can compare, they aren't really that similar, but I still think they do vaguely resemble each other a little. In particular, the round columns on the four corners of the tower.
