  • That Little Icon in the Address Bar

Lately, many websites are adding a little icon that appears in the browser's address bar to the left of the "http://..."
    What is it called?
How does one go about placing it there?
I'd like to add one to my website.

    Anybody know?

    Cheers!

You can put the "favicon.ico" icon file in the root of your website and it'll show. ie: www.yoursite.com/favicon.ico

That was actually a really good question. It's one of those insignificant questions that pretty much everyone has asked themselves before, but never really gotten an answer to. I actually asked myself that question everytime I saw a favicon.

Now if you can tell me where doughnut holes come from...

I'll trade you the answer to that one for the Caramilk secret!
