I think it's fondly referred to as the "West Island"

    Way to go ADG..

Where is this mythical place you talk so passionately about?

    Never heard of it.

Anyone who is genuinely upset at the comments above take note .. this is nothing more than country pride and sporting rivalry.

OF course, it's also inaccurate becuase we all know that the best beef in the world is found in a country almost the size of America just to the west of a tiny little island where the Men are Men and the sheep very afraid....

    Bovine Spongivore Encephelitis (sp?)

Caused by the rendering of diseased ruminants (sheep, goats, cows etc) and putting this into cattle feed. Cows eating cows.

Our American friends would be quite horrified at how their cattle are farmed these days and fed on such diets which the UK and other European countries have banned.

The majority of our cattle here in Australia are grazed, not fed reprocessed carcasses.

Its obviously not british meat you have eaten then, French meat is terrible, British Beef is the worlds best meat.
The Mad Cow Disease adds flavor! :P

I can attest that French meat officially blows, from first hand experience.

If you come down a little ways South (like here in Georgia), try some Brunswick Stew. It is *most* delicious, especially from some small out-of-the-way bar-b-que joint you might find on one of the old US hwy's which generally parallel the interstate routes . . .

    *yum*

It's winter here in Australia so soups are on the menu's around town.

I love Thai "Tom Yum Goong" which is hot and sour prawn soup.

And I love making my own Chicken & Vegetable soup from scratch (including making the stock from a whole chicken) and putting loads of different vegies in.

Tinned and packet soups are disgusting. Urggghhhh!
