My Norton AV keeps finding "GSAinst.exe Adware.GameSpyArcade" When i select delete it shows that the delete request has failed. Pissing anoying. Any ideas?

The Norton AntiVirus usually is unable to delete adware or spyware. Try using Spybot or Ad-Aware.

There is a free program called MoveOnBoot. "It allows you to copy, move or delete files on the next system boot. This can come handy if you need to replace or delete files that are locked by other applications, loaded into memory or cannot be changed until next system boot."

"GSAinst.exe Adware.GameSpyArcade" is safe, well at least the "GSAinst.exe" part (according to http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/m...sainst.exe.php)

I haven't used MoveOnBoot myself, I was recommended it incase I had a stubborn file. I'm guessing you just find the file(s) on your system then let moveonboot do the rest.

Ad-Aware wouldnt pick it up at all, Norton won't delete it so i just found it myself and chucked in the recycling bin. I think its got something to do with the game "Rise of Nations". If the game no longer works. Balls to it i'll re-install, doesnt really bother me.

That's right. BA747-436 I suggest you try both of these before using MoveOnBoot. Remember to update both before the first scan. With Ad-aware I'd visit http://rstones12.geekstogo.com/adawareSE_setup.htm to configure the program. Also it's a good idea to use Ad-aware and other similar programs occasionally in safe mode (press F8 repeatedly during start up). Safe mode can pick up nasties that normal mode misses.

Norton won't delete it so i just found it myself and chucked in the recycling bin.

Problem solved then. I was under the impression the file was difficult to work with, obviously not.

I use AVG (Free Edition), Ad-Aware, Sygate software firewall (just so I know what is trying to connect to the internet and when), and I just left the WindowsXP firewall on by default. I also have a HotBrick VPN800/2 hardware firewall/traffic director. The most used application would be common sense though

Last year my computer was wiped out by a virus. That was before we really took it seriously. It even made it to where we couldn't open up a cd burning program to backup stuff. Now we have Adaware, spybot, and a ZoneLabs firewall. No problems so far, which is surprising, considering all the downloads.
