I was hoping Germany would get Holland or some other "tough" team in the same group. Germany needs to be up against an exceptional team to be at their best. They seem to have a tendency to get laid back if they're up against a "weaker" team. Don't get me wrong, the rest of Group A isn't weak, but they're just not in the same league as Brazil, England, and the likes. Nonetheless, if Germany doesn't treat every game (regardless of whom they're up against) like they're playing agaist Brazil, then they'll be watching the rest of the World Cup on TV.

BTW, I have two tix to the quarters in Stuttgart on the 25th (Game 51).

I really couldn't belive it when I heard that Costa Rica was in Group A and will play the opening match against Germany1 For a country as small as Costa Rica, tihs is sensational and really an honor. GO COSTA RICA!!!!

Depends of the game quality. Personally, I like seeing the States in World Cups, given the fact as written by Colin they don't get the overall support they deserve.
I agree the US had a very nice turnament in 2002 as they would have deserved to win over Germany (entschuldigen Colin)
In 1998, their elimination by Iran was justified, they delivered a crappy game.

Italy vs. Czech is gonna be tough play.. They will definítely go into playoffs !

Portugal in Block D will definitely enoy the games.. They have advantages. (Lost last year and returning with brute force to win the cup this time)

Germany is what Im voting for though. They're one of the strongest team!

Too bad I was too little to see Canada play in 1986 World Cup.
I guess I will have to wait another 80 years or so to see them back in the final 32
