Easier said then done. For example, during times of racail segregation, who is going to hire a black person for a high paying job in those days? They handeld it well with out going out to make loads of cash.

Nonsense, if this is true then why is Bush still in office? HE LOST HIS FIRST ELECTION!

Also, the richer you are, the more influence you have over the government here, so that makes an unfair balance. I KNOW the majority of the country is not rich christain republicans, but thats whose running things.

The way the US voting system works with 'winning states', it is quite possible for a president to be elected even though they had less votes. I think that's actually happened a couple times before hasn't it?

The majority of Australians didn't want their country to go to Iraq, but they still did. Looks like majority lost that time too.

It actually happened in 2000....if our elections were based soley on popular vote, Al Gore would have been President from 2001 onwards instead of this...gentleman.

It has happened many times. More notable is when neither canidant (some times more then 2) don't recieve enough Electoral Votes. The biggest know accurance of this is the Q Adams election where he had a good 10% less of the popular vote over Jackson (not sure if it was Jackson or Monroe) but Henry Clay (The 3rd Canidant) decided to endorse Admas so all of Clays followers in Congress voted for Adams instead of Jackson. Since Jackson had more Electoral votes AND the popular vote (Something like 43% too 36%) a huge outrage happened.

              note the elipses!

Seriously, as much as I wish that he didn't win in 2000, under existing laws, he (probably? even this is under scrutiny) did win, so we mustn't keep boiling our butts over it.

I'm sure the guy with the presidential mop will come clean things up in '08!

In this case it was a state case so it could go as high as the GOVENATOR...... Yet another way that the legal system creates room for clutter in most cases. It is very sad as those who in my humble opinion deserve to have their execution stayed hardly ever get it.... case and point Stanley Tookie Williams who has seemed to turn his life around and is out for the better now.

BUT.... Would he have changed his views if he had not been convicted? I'll bet he would not have changed one bit, while living the life of a gang leader. Who knows how many lives were saved, because this man was removed from society. Only a man who has never taken a life, should be granted the chance at a new one. Harsh? maybe, but a person that has been incarcerated, for sure is probably going to change thier ways, just to see freedom. How many child molesters have "changed" just to end up back in jail? Too many...
