The last photo (close-up) is one I took at TRI in June 2002. The others were taken from Puerto Rico. Same aircraft? Numbers match.

Yep, same one. It was probably sold or returned to who ever leased it out then bough/leased again by the other airline that didn't bother painting it over. It happens every so often..

I'm going strictly on logic here but I would say that NW probably sold it to them.

I know that. . I just thought they would repaint it.

I guess they found it cheaper to just paint over the NW Airlink titles.

Those pictures were all taken within a few weeks of each other. Obviously it hadn't gotten a full paint job and only the NW colours had been taken off. That particular aircraft was not with Fina Air very long and probably was never painted in their colours. It is now registered with a private operater in Sweeden.

Big deal, a plane still in the colors of its previous owner flying for a new owner, happens all the time. Hence you see 'DL' 727s flying in Indonesia of 'AA' MD-11Fs and 'UA' DC-10s operating for FedEx.

Agree. I have seen photos of an african freighter ( Cant remember what frieghter airline) which were still in ol 90's DL colours.. atleast the basic colours were still painted...

                        I'll look into it later.

Ya, not to mention all the leased hybrids flying around.
