  • Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish all Christian members of this forum and respective families a very Merry Christmas.

To those of you who are not Christians but live in a country where Christmas is celebrated I wish you and your family a happy holiday season.

To all the others I wish you have a good time in this period.

As a Roman Catholic, I would like to remind you all that on Christmas, we Christians celebrate to birth of Jesus Christ, son of God. We don't celebrate the exchange of presents.

    Take care.

Actually, Holidays stems from "Holy-Days", so if you wanted to be truly political correct you would have to say something like "Happy Day Commemerating an Important Event in Your Respective Religion, or if You Are Atheist Then Enjoy the Time Off of Work And School."

      Merry Christmas!

              Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I'm not Christian, Jewish, etc, but I still feel a little more jolly around any religious holiday, whether it's Diwali or Christmas! We even put up a tree

But why so early? Someone really jumped the gun on this one...

That was exactly what I thought when I read this thread. Oh well, no real harm done!

Well, it's Christmas time already here in my country, but since I'm in Europe I'm ahead of you in the States.

                        Cheers.

Didn't realize Christmas was on the 17th in Europe. Thought it was the 25th everwhere!

                          No, I'm not that stupid

Judging from Hollywood, Christmastime begins the week before Halloween and ends the week after New Year's Day. But to me, it's the day after Thanksgiving to the day after Xmas.

Christmas starts as you rush to get your presents on the 24th and lasts until the last one is unwrapped at around 5.30am on the 25th!

Or am I just an old cynic?

I'd go for the latter of the two, Andy . I'm just kidding with ya, but in my family, we always exchange gifts Christmas morning. AFAIK, that's how alot of American families who celebrate do it.
                              Cheers,
                              A.M.
