From what I've heard, Reno has (somewhat) gone to shit as well, so it seems to be that whole area that's getting hammered. I've got a friend there, and she says it's pretty bad. Anyways, best of luck to everyone there...

Same here. Lousy way to start the year.

We just went through that during Thanksgiving. All three roads leaving town washed out. There were dozens of huge mudslides taking out part of roads. It was crazy. I wish the people from N. California the best of luck.

    Flooding in Northern California

    I live in Sacramento.

Drove over the Yolo causeway/bypass Friday -- both sides of the freeway has so much water -- virtually a freeway running across a lake which during summer is farmland/wetlands. Apparently, the bypass has this exact purpose: to take in water from the already swelling Sacramento River.

Also on Friday, was part of the IT team setting up notebooks/phones and hooking them up to the network thus keeping all channels of communication open. Also making sure our IT van was full of gas and extra IT/emergency gear were on board.

Compared with the Katrina disaster? This is peanuts. However, disaster preparedness at the right moment pays off overwhelmingly. I am glad I was part of the team. Handsome computer geeks making their contribution...lol

If I get more pics, I will post 'em. I am sure some of you from N. CALI can help me.
Working...
