  • Manning Fails Again!

Another big playoff game, another big failure for Peyton Manning. Good. This guy is an overrated whiner and a selfish player. Witness him blaming his offensive line after the game for the loss: "we had some protection problems." Class act.

I still cannot believe the refs overturned the interception late in the fourth quarter and gave Indianapolis another shot. Thankfully they still couldn't still the win.

So, my hometown in Chicago, Rex Grossman failed, too today. We lost. We couldn't make to Super Bowl. Maybe try again next year or so. That was close call to winning a game. Oh well.... Bears did a good job and players very well. Let's go Bears again next Fall.

Manning's statements weren't very classy. Bradshaw had some things to say about them in his commentary.

It looks like next week we'll have:

        Seahawks v. Panthers
        Steelers v. Broncos

        Should be some good football.

"I give Pittsburgh some credit for their blitzes, but we did have some protection problems," said Manning, who was sacked five times.

The Colts offense sputtered most of the game. Quarterback Payton Manning was unable to complete a pass or register a first down until the team's third possession, late in the first quarter. The Colts did not put together a drive until midway into the second quarter, leading to a 20-yard Vanderjagt field goal.

First of all, they DID have protection problems. He was being honest. I'm not saying he shouldn't have made plays anyway, but they did have problems.

My hope: Denver V. Seattle in the superbowl......GO HAWKS!

I wanted the Colts to win, and they would of if the Steelers QB didn't get that game-saving tackle after "The Bus" fumbled at the endzone. Even then, it looked like they would tie. I CAN'T BELIVE THE KICKER #@*&#$ up! HE HAD GREAT BLOCKING, AND HE MISSES BY A MILE! IT WASN'T EVEN CLOSE! The Colt's got every break a team could get in the 4th quater, and they still don't win. Damn it.

Anyway, with the Pats, Bears, and Colts gone, go Denver!

Here's my analysis of the games.

Pats didn't play good ball. Clearly not the Super Bowl champions of past years.

Redskins were outclassed offensively. But the fact tthat they got as far as they did is a testament to how good of a coach Joe Gibbs is.

Bears missed the chances to make TD's. Carolina had too much flexibility in offense.

Manning and the Colts did not play like a winning team, the Steelers deserved this one. Roethlisberger was clearly the better QB in this game.

I was surprised at how Indy struggled early. I really thought the game would've been much closer earlier in the game. Before the Colts' rally in the 4th, they were down by 18 points. I agree with what Boomer Esiason said, in that if Pittsburgh lost, they would've been robbed the win. Pittsburgh earned that win & they definitely looked better than the Colts all day.

It was really the IND kicker who failed, the most reliable kicker in the game, and he booted it wide right. Manning almost engineered a heroic comeback.

Actually if you take it from a sports stand point, the WHOLE IND team failed. Why is it one person or a few peoples fault if a team loses? Everyone could have played better and that shows because they lost. Blaming Vanderjact because he missed 2 FG should not be the reason. Why did the game have to come down to him?

The SEA and CAR game next week is going to be insane!!! I am a big Panthers guy and their defense has a big shot at stoping the hawks since it doesn't look likely that either team's RB will start.

I agree that the Patriots didn't play like the team of past years, but I also wonder if the Bronco defense and the fan noise made the Patriots make more mistakes than they otherwise would have.

The Steelers really had their act together, both on defense and on offense. The big Steeler surprise was the game call towards the end of the game that led to a turnover. They should have gone with a more conservative call that was less risk of a turnover. If the Steelers play as good next weekend as they did this past weekend I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the Superbowl and win it.

                            Duh overrated Bears

It's clear to me that the Bears coaching staff is severely overrated making ZERO adjustments to stop Steve Smith. Um, try double coverage guys? Which part of Smith's FIRST 100 yards receiving confused you? If anyone thinks that a team led by glass legs Grossman, roasted peanut Tillman, and butterfingers Muhammad is going anywhere next year...jeez...I've gotten used to losing seasons but this is worse. Trash talking when you haven't won a playoff game in HOW LONG? This is a slightly above average team in a weak conference. It's rather quiet in a city that was all excited about its overachievers.

Ya, I was pretty pissed after that. But Manning got them in that jam in the first place, and it wasn't just manning, the Offensive Line wasn't doing crap from Manning early into the game, and the Defense allowed the Steelers to get too far ahead.
