There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a comparison is made, the thread is over and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress.

It is considered poor form to arbitrarily raise such a comparison with the motive of ending the thread. There is a widely recognized codicil that any such deliberate invocation of Godwin's Law will be unsuccessful.





So that means Herpa has lost about 100% of any argument he's ever had. Including that whole 757 thing.

There's also another "law" that states that people who try to revive a thread after it has been locked are "losers." It is called, "herpa's law stating that he got the last word and you didn't." It basically means that you shouldn't try to bring up an argument that has been killed.

The 757 thing was understandable, although not to smart, it could happen to the smartest of us. But this is way over the top. Well then perhaps you should spend your time learning how to use spell check. The conspiracy theory websites were interesting and took me all of about 15 or 20 minutes to read while enjoying my morning coffee. Same with Godwin's Law.

They really are good reading for the non closed minded and the adventurous. Take the hint.
