You need to complete a certain percentage of the game, some where around 85% IIRC. Some previously thought it was in the 90% area, but I could take it out of the hangar at 87%, probably earlier.

Try it after finishing all of the story line missions.

I am not exactly sure if it is still called Dodo but it looks like the one from GTA III and GTA Vice City

          It is.. ;p
You can fly these aircraft: Andromeda, AT-400 (the large jet), Beagle, Cargobob, Crop Duster, Dodo, Hunter, Hydra, Leviathan, Mavrick (Including the Coast Guard, Police, News versions), Nevada, Rain Dance, Rustler, Shamal, Skimmer, Sparrow and Sea Sparrow, Stunt Plane, Vortex

The airport in Las Venturas, the big hangar to the south.

It might still be called a Dodo, but at least it can be handled in GTA:SA, unlike that b!tch in Liberty City . And as Genessee said, you can get the '737' at the hangar in Las Venturas, as that is the only place where you can actually board the jet. If land somewhere and decide to deplane, you cannot get back in.
ps: Try flying the AT-400 over Area 69 and outrun the SAMs .

For the passenger jet, that one is in the Las Venturas airport hanger, the big one, walk up to it and the doors will open. For the others, search google, im sure there are ways to get them

Not true, both Los Santos and San Fierro airport have air stairs that can be used to get back in. In Los Santos I always turn off the runway and slowly park the plane so the door is right against the stairs, in San Fierro, its not as easy, since the stairs do not always spawn, when this happens I grab a near by utility truck and back it up right against the planes door. Then I climb on top of the truck and get in the plane that way.

Well, if you have the to actually land at an airport . I prefer the freeways for landing .

I could've sworn you could get the 737 in one of the hangars at Los Santos Airport along with Las Venturas. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

If you bought it recently, and it has some thing like "Gold Edition", "Special Edition" or something like that, it's the newer one. They also included some extras such as a "GTA:SA Prequel" (which was also included with the sound track music CDs)

The only game change to the newer versions is the removal of the "Hot Coffee" mod stuff. ( http://patrickw.gtagames.nl/mods.html )

In Liberty City the tank works much better than hthe Dodo when it comes to flying. IE, using the flying car cheat. Dont save though.
