There seems to be a great debate going on about gay relationships, and how they are addressed in the bible. How about Lesbian couples? How do they fit in, are they specifically addressed in the bible? There seems to be a great deal less care about them.

    Whats everyones views on Lesbians?

Ok, first of all, I am not against gays or lesbians. I am just against their actions, but I have no problem with the people themselves. I think of lesbians the same way I think of gays because it is the same thing- same sex relationships.

My opinion on gays is that they can do what makes them happy. If they are attracted to people of the same sex that's fine with me. It's not my life and it's not my right to take away their sexual freedom. Could you imagine looking at the opposite sex and not feel anything at all? Then you think of all the alienation people will make you feel because you are attracted tot he same sex. It isn't right, people are different and if 2 guys or 2 girls are attracted to each other it is not my right or anyone elses to take away those feelings and their rights away from them.

There isn't a problem with Gay people from my opinion, just their actions. In an odd and twisted way, its just like telemarketers-you don't like what they do, but you like the person making the call.

As long as they're not forcing their actions upon you what does it matter?

Thats fair enough, and you are entitled to your opinions. However, what is your arguement for thinking the actions are wrong? Is it just a personal dislike with no actual background, or is it something you can argue a case about?

Ok, think of it this way- God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve! (A quote from a Canadian politician.) Men and women were made for each other, men and men and women and women are not made for each other.

A fair point! Is it not true however that society changes and practices evolve? Evidence shows that organisms have evolved to adapt to envoronments and circumstances over the years, as has their behaviour. After 2000 years, is it not reasonable to expect that society will have evolved sufficiently that millenia old guidelines need looking at again? Look at laws of the land and the rate they change - surely an excellent example of how society is a fluid thing and not something that can (excuse the reference) be carved in stone.

Speaking of homosexuality, did anyone see the brand new Ren and Stimpy cartoon on TNN by any chance? I never knew or noticed it till now but Ren and Stimpy are gay. On the episode I saw last night Ren says "You're the pitcher I'm the catcher" as they are talking about anal sex. I found this strange as I never really noticed they were gay on the older classic episodes from the early 90's. They even went on a date together to a resteraunt. The cartoon is also alot more mature than it used to be. It has swearing and alot more gross adult humour...strange.

It's been a long time since we've had a good debate on this forum...and now we have 3 going at once!

True, society changes, but not always for the best. Just compare TV in the 50s and 60s to TV now. In the 60s men and women couldn't be in the same bed on TV. and now they are shown having sex. Teenage girls are puking just to look like people on TV or in magazines. That wasn't really a problem 50 years ago. I don't even want to know what society will be like in another 30 years...
