  • Turning My Reputation Around

Hi all, It has become obvious to me that I need to change my reputation around on these forums, so I thought I'd make this difficult task a little more enjoyable by treating it like one of those cost saving reviews that the major airline's have (e.g. the "Size and Shape" review which BA had just after 9/11).

    Plan A: Rebrand:
I've signed up a new account, however I'm not too hopefull about this as the mods may realise that this new account is linked to my current one, also, I think it's now compulsary to sign up to JP Elite, and I'm not prepared to pay for an account when I've got this one for free. (Also I don't want the number of threads I've participated in to go from 607 to 0).

    Plan B: Restructure:
First stage: apply to the mods to have my username changed
Second stage: cease posting childish and immature posts.
Third stage: work on building my number of posts up to an average of 2 per day
Fourth stage: think of a way to convince other members that I've changed for the better and try and gain a similar level of respect as the likes of screaming_emu.

Plan C: Get The Hell Outa Here:
Leave JP.net Forums on the best possible terms and commit to FleetBuzz.com

Chris, the key to having a good times on these forums is by not taking them too seriously. Have a good time, but as was mentioned above, think twice before you post. Ask yourself "is this going to contribute to the forum in any way?" If it will (even if its just humor or something) then go for it. If not, nothing wrong with not posting something. Just relax and have a good time.

I would have to admit that in a lot of respects I would be classed as intollerant, but is something that can be managed.
One thing that does piss me off is those who preach tollerance and self righteousness only to call someone in another thread.
Chris, you are certainly different, and at times make me more than smile. Some of your topics have been............well,but they are read by a lot of us here.
We can roll out the old cliche of everyone is different.
A lot of things come with maturity, and all of us have been guilty of a stupid post or two.
Keep posting as bmiChris2k5.There will be those who let their thoughts be known....and they are entitled to do so.You are not going to have everyone put you on their barbecue list so just enjoy yourself.Forums by nature become a bit clinical so so we need you here mate.
There is a lot more immature posting and rule breaking here that annoys me more than any of your posts ever will..........so keep it comming.

Thanks guys, appreciate all those comments, it's made me feel a hell of a lot better and I'll do exactly as you suggest. I will still try and adjust my username though, I want the 2k5 bit removed since we're no longer in 2005.

I agree with you there, but would you say I was doing well in terms of number of posts? 612 since February 2005?

Ask that to yourself, if you think you done well since you joined although you're post count says 612, Like the other guys said, relax, dont think about your post count, whether you have 600 or 6000, I'de still respect you like I treat the other members. Again relax and listen to what have already been said.

As the others said, have fun but don't take it too seriously. I was starting to feel "left out" and "ignored" occasionally and then I realized: it's something I do for fun, not for some sort of competition or popularity contest. I used to really worry what others would think of me on forums, but then I realized, who cares? Just be yourself and that's the best advice I can offer.

Watch this...this post will probably be ignored...

You should have understood by now that the number of posts is not a measure of achievement or respect. It's about the value that you contribute.

Besides, I joined in the same month, and I have about double your post count, so it's really not that big of an achievement
