My optical mouse?

The pointer keeps shaking irretically (mind the spelling!), is it a problem with my new Creative mouse? I've been having this problem with my old Genius optical mouse.

I have an optical mouse that acts up some times. Sometimes it'll shake like you said or it will move in a different direction than i want it to and it's hard to control. But mine is really just a cheap piece of crap.

Simply blow the dust away from the sensor, that should cure it.

And dust your worktop - it's probably ploughing through the accumulated detritus of eons!!

Thanks for the help guys! Once i blow the sensor, i see a lot of dust blowing away. And when i wipe my desk, dust also blowing away. My desk is so messy, that's why i don't want to show some shots of it.
