  • North Dakota students skip class for sandbag duty

School officials told students in Fargo they could be excused from classes for sandbag duty as long as they had a note from their parents. A spokesman for the school board said the response has been so overwhelming school officials have had to limit the number to 300 students.
For some reason, I'm not a bit surprised

Here's a more detailed story from AP.

I flew yesterday and all around the outskirts of town there are roads that just dissapear under water and then show up again. One of my friends took a picture of a bridge in town, the water is within a couple feet of it. Maybe they'll end the semester early

That looks pretty cool, Alec. Where is it?
I'm assuming that's a tunnel in that middle section

No, its actually how we get rid of people we dont like. We tell them that there is something really cool accross the bay and that they have to take the bridge to get there

I think the bridge is somewhere in Canada. But I believe the Chesapeake Bay bridge has a tunnel section in it also.

That was a fun bridge to drive on, except for the part where the radio cuts out in the tunnel
