Good method, though personally I prefer harder stuff for that , e.g. turning up the bass fully for "Old School Hollywood" by SOAD. The bass vibrations are enough to p!ss off the neighbors, and the loud music only adds to that.

LOL. Here it depends. In the club I go to - Corona they only play Techno, Club, Trance etc. Also while driving I listen only to techno or news

You can have the most meaningful lyrics in the world, but I was reffering to the actual MUSIC component. Call me crazy, but I don't think that "Boom Boom, wika wiki" repeated 50 times over has an unbelieveable amount of theory or stucture in it.

Being a hip-hop fan I take some offense to that. However its obvious that you either A. Don't know what you're talking about or B. Are trying to push buttons. BTW, according to the dictionary rap is just as much music as any other genre.

That song isn't even that good. Have you ever listend to Talib Kweli? Wu Tang Clan? Boot Camp Click? Das Effects? KRS One? Rakim? NAS? Jay-Z? EdoG? Some old Ice Cube? Some old Dr.Dre? Ghostface? GZA? Outkast? Goodie Mobb? Mc Lyte? Pete Rock and Cl smooth? Method Man? Redman? The Beat Nuts? Big Pun? Lost Boyz? Tupac? Ghetto Boys?

My point is, you really should NOT judge hip-hop until you've listen to old school and under ground hip-hop, because thats what hip-hop really is, thats what makes up the majority of hip-hop, and thats the hip-hop that you wont hear on the radio or MTV.

A voice cries from the wilderness of the north
A representation of the families that lost one
    All victims of incarceration
Or other divisions of the family structure
Youths are injected with serums that leads
To skin irritations, babies being born with
    Disfigurations, experimentations
On their faces there bear world relations
Of mothers that carry the pain
Of blood stained streets where sisters mourn and wail
Fifth brothers been slain from hails of gun fire
It lightly begins to rain screams of terror
Are hidden by the passing trains
This can't be little shane, his uncle cried
As he drops to his nephew's side, holding his cane
Just give me a name, of who has inflicted this
Bitter sickness, and left us to witness

    [u-god]
    Yeah, yo
Curses from war, innocent blood spills for days
Soothe in godly ways, hands, solemn in praise
Tree of life, more precious than wu is golden game
The wise self flourish inherit, halls of fame
Crime visions in my blood got me, locked in prison
While we die hard living people whine about religion, vision
Blow, spin, and sin and killing what's revealing
It's a never ending battle with no ending or beginning, listen
Zero process, progress, become the hunted
America's most wanted, good life flaunted, want it
Some love the speed, some satisfy a need
Some want to be down, young gun seed, jungle breed
The stronger speed, someone die, someone bleed
One flew astray, and then caught my little seed
Can it be, the ice have us trife life, made me grab the knife

I used to hate rap but now I like quite a bit of it. Not a big fan of a lot of the topics they sing about, but I like the way a lot of it sounds.

I used to go through a rap/hip-hop phase a few years ago, but that has gone by. Nonetheless, there are still a few rappers that I like, like Eminem (mostly his goofy songs), Xzibit (guess that's partly due to "Pimp my ride"), some Ludacris (mostly goofy as well), and a few single songs here and there per artist (D12's "My Band", "Purple Hills"; Lil' Jon's "Get Low").
Other than that, most modern day rap annoys the f*ck out of me, particularly that super hardcore gangsta' rapper hustler 50' Cent (what a ridiculous name is that anyway?).
Now, early 90's old school rap, like Eazy-E, or some of the stuff from NWA or Dr Dre seperately, that is still pretty good, as it was more, how to say, truer to the real issues back then, and not always the same "I'll shot every guy and bang every b!tch" songs these days.

For every 20 rap songs that come out now, I probably only like 2 or 3. Even I think most of the songs are getting stupid.("I'm in love with a stipper"? C'mon! ) I love the Ying Yang Twins, and no I'm not going with the crowd, I've followed them since 2000 when no one west of Atlanta had heard of them. However, I am dissapointed in their new songs, I see "Miss New Booty" has been mentioned. Since becoming radio hits, they have lost what made their music unique, the random loud noises and their style and all that kind of stuff. Now they're lyrics and voices are just fading into the Generic "Party Rap" image. I belive the term for what they're doing is "Selling out".

Anyway, as for what I do still like, Bay Area party rap. "Hyphie rap", has been around for years, but its just becoming known now. This rap is not violent, its just party music that gets you lose and gets you to go dumb. It actually makes you happy/hyper, and has no negitive images.(except mabey drinking, but hell, we all know what goes on at partys)

One great song, which you can check out if your interested, is the first "Hyphie" Song to make it Nationwide, "Tell Me when to Go"-by E-40, it pretty much explains what this whole Hyphie thing in the bay is about, and its a pretty clean cut song. I personally start bouncing whenever I hear the song, at school or wherever.
