    I got the beta a week or so ago. It hasn't crashed yet. I really like the tab browsing so you don't have to have more than one window of IE open. I wish the favorites list would do the same thing as in IE6. That is, make the favorites that you don't visit as often disappear.

    My IE's been compromised. There's ads everywhere and if I use it viruses appear on my machine

    I've had no trouble with any of the IE7 betas. It's shaping up to be a great browser. As far as memory usage goes, FF is the ONLY browser I've seen hit a gigabye of memory used...That was nutty.

    Seriously, people think FF is safe? *insert enough 'lol'ing emoticons to get me, my children and the next 3 generations banned for life here, but before hand, pls msg regarding a bridge I have for sale* Both browsers suck for security, most do. YOU alone are responsible for being safe and installing the proper software to be secure. A part from giving a little help on the issue, *NO* web browser is going to do that, it's not their job to.

    Fanboys == suck

    There you have it, IE is not safe and it's called the Internet Exploder for a reason.

    The main problem I have with it is that the javascript on flightaware.com, where you type in part of the airline name and it gives you a popup with choices, doesn't work, I just have to type the URL direct. Fortunately, I only use IE for sites which don't work in Netscape (which is very few)

    I tried IE7 Beta One. I had a 2 day honeymoon period with it where I had no glitches. But when I tried downloading something, the thing went nuts on me. I had to hit the power switch to turn it off.

    I tired IE7 Beta Two on my dad's PC. It crashed, but I managed to ctrl+alt+del my way out of it. It took two minutes to fully close, which is les time than it takes for my PC to reboot.

    And what's up with that overzealous popup blocker? If I click on something, that means I want the window to open. It's not a popup if I actually want the window. I hope someone in Redmond got fired over that. Sheesh.

    Verdict: Default Browser remains Firefox

    i'd agree with your comments! i had it for 2 days and found it was a drain on resources and slow, alot harder screening photos with IE so i'll stick with FF.

    Is it embedded in the operating system so it will take half of Windows with it as soon as it crashes for whatever reason? Can I personalise it with a boatload of themes, extensions and gadgets? Can I use AdBlock with it?

    OK, I think I know what I'm keeping.
