isnt it all about perception? and most people in the middle east dont percieve americans as innocent as americans, mainly due to certain doctrines in american foreign politics. i see it merely as a resolt of american foreign policy that for the first time had some collateral damage not only in other countries but after all in their own country aswell. you might wanna ask about the people of chile about september 11, that is when the usa backed the assasination of salvador allende 1972, who was democratically elected but "too socialist" and therefore didnt fit into what the cia wanted.
its all about perception, and sadly the u.s. american september 11th triggered even more terror in the name of freedom which is however causing less and less freedom in YOUR own country and terror in other countries. there is always only one winner. corporate america. and with 9/11 the target were not the american people but corporate america. thats what the american people dont seem to understand, but after all they have become slaves of corporate america themselves AND even defend it even tho they are the ones suffering most. the anti americanism you can see throughout the world is just that the rest of the world doesnt want to turn into workers for a corporate society.

Blaming America for 9/11 is just wrong, its like blaming the UK or Canada for 9/11. They hate us because we are the strongest, we are the only superpower left in this world. so what is the pentagon? the tool to project corporate american interests into other countries. just like the nsa or cia.
and who knows where ual 93 was supposed to go.
and yes america and europe are similar in maany ways. but very different in very fundamental ways. foreign politics come to my mind. due to the "leftism" present in europe and our past, we abandoned imperialism, either directly or indirectly. and it is strongly opposed by europeans as a whole.
and the press is very different aswell. we dont have the huge media conglomerates control whatever is in our papers but a more diverse media leading to a different public perception of things. after all people in europe are not as "afraid" as americans from terrorism because we all had home grown terrorism in the 70ies and learned one important lesson from it. that you dont fight fire with fire. i think thats a very fundamental difference, however living in europe for 3 years might not have made you notice it. instead of creating more stringent laws and strict regulations after the terror waves of the 70ies we did the liberal approach and all of a sudden terrorism disappeared except some incidents on the french departement of corsique and in pays vasco in spain.

True, Europe has had some terrorism in the past but nothing near as significant as 9/11. You don't just let 3,000 people get murdered and not do anything about it...you fight, to make sure it doesn't happen again, and so far, it hasn't.

About the Pentagon- No, it isn't anything related to anything corporate. It is the headquarters of the US military, and the plane hit on the US Army side...
