How sad. Being hit by an RPG attack must have been ridicolously horrible. May she forever rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

A military transport plane carrying the body of Capt. Nichola Goddard landed at CFB Trenton in Ontario late Saturday night, where it was met by a guard of honour and her family.

Goddard, 26, died Wednesday while fighting Taliban insurgents west of Kandahar, Afghanistan. She is the first Canadian female combat soldier to die in action.

The military Airbus landed at 11:44 p.m., where it was met by nine military pallbearers and a military chaplain. The pallbearers, who were members of her regiment, the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, carried Goddard's coffin to a waiting hearse as a guard of honour played the bagpipes.
