Steve game me this link some time ago...very sad to see I've never been to Chernobyl, and I don't think I'll ever go there.

Yep. I love that site. I would absolutely LOVE to go there just to take pictures and see all of that stuff. It'd be so eerie but very education and powerful as well.

It's a good site, makes you think....

Even if most of the pictures were faked by her husband and some aren't even from the area (by her own admission)

You can go on the same tour they did, it supposed to be well worth it.

eh, even if it is a downer, sometimes its a good idea to go see these things. Really helps you ponder life, learn to not sweat the small stuff, and not take your life for granted. A good example was when i went to the concentration camp in Dachau, Germany. Was it fun, not in the slightest, but it really does make you think. Was such a powerfull experience that my girlfriend (at the time), who was mormon and extremely religious, actually came away from it wondering if there was actually a god. Really powerful.

i'd like to visit Pripyat and the Chernobyl area, my grandmother was from the Ukraine and it's been a desire to see the place, not sure why i'd want to see Chernobyl, just something i want to do.

I've spent most of my life in the eastern europe...not many peiople know about it. I was born in Russia and then I lived in Ukraine for 6 years (jn the city of Lviv). Nway I saw the poverty there nd what I want to say is: I am never ever going back to that country again....NEVER.
