  • 2006 Hurricane Season Discussion Thread

For weather buffs like myself, this is where we will track any and all tropical storms and hurricanes for this season. Rather than making multiple simultaneous threads I thought it best to have one consolidated place for this.

Here are the names for Atlantic Storms:

    Alberto
    Beryl
    Chris
    Debby
    Ernesto
    Florence
    Gordon
    Helene
    Isaac
    Joyce
    Kirk
    Leslie
    Michael
    Nadine
    Oscar
    Patty
    Rafael
    Sandy
    Tony
    Valerie
    William

Here are the names for Pacific Storms:

    Aletta - born 2100 GMT 27 May
    Bud
    Carlotta
    Daniel
    Emilia
    Fabio
    Gilma
    Hector
    Ileana
    John
    Kristy
    Lane
    Miriam
    Norman
    Olivia
    Paul
    Rosa
    Sergio
    Tara
    Vicente
    Willa
    Xavier
    Yolanda
    Zeke

In the Pacific the first storm ALETTA has already formed.

This season should be interesting- they are predicting 10 major storms, 4 of those Cat 3+ for the North Florida Region. We bought our generator today .
    Cheers,
    A.M.

Wise decision. I can never understand people not having something like that when you live in the danger zone.

Hopefully one will land up here in Upstate NY :rolls: I want to be in a hurricane. Maybe I'll go visit my mom down in Ft. Lauderdale.

Depends on the current atmospheric conditions at the time of the storm, and thus the route of it.

Hurricanes while interesting, mostly just mean that I have to walk to class in the rain. And then watch the news reporters stand in the rain and tell me it's raining.
