Yesterday evening ZZ delivered two interviews on two major TV channels (Canal + and TF1) . Exerpts
    - The guilty is the one who provokes...
    - I would have much prefered to be hit by a good straitforward right instead of hearing some really harsh words focusing on both my mother and sister...
    - I am sorry for the kids and teachers who viewed the show, but I have no remorse, if so this would give right to Materazzi and al.
ZZ also stated he is ready for any investigation the federation would drive and showed sign he was ready to stand up.
In the meantime, Materazzi (who much reminds me of duet low level comedians Franco and Ciccio) attended a performance delivered by the Rolling Stones at Milan, and Mick Jagger reportedly said Keith Richards and the soccer player had brain cell problems in common.

If the Italian guy said what many are saying he did, than shame on him, but trash talking is part of sports. The idea is to get under your opponents skin and apparently it worked. The best way to get revenge would have been to win the world cup for your team. Actions speak louder than...uhh....headbutts. Its called the moral high road, and not nearly enough people take it nowadays.
Well said Joe. Thats what I have been trying to say !

And you're totally right with the rest of it. He should have known better, but I guess he didnt care, Too bad really !

    I agree 100%, Joe.

But then again, if it wasn't for him being such an ass, we wouldn't have all these now would we?http://gifdump.com/search/Zidane/

Finally, someone wrote something wise about this issue.

    Cheers.

Yeah, I've been unaware of the whole soccer world. Us fat yanks, have got to get with the program. After watching some of ZZ's plays, he is much too talented a player to let the opponent under his skin like that.... Like Joe said...The best revenge is to say "whatever" as you point to the scoreboard. Well he did'nt exactly say that....but you get the idea....

Here's a different angle shot of the headbutt.

Look at Materazzi how fast he got knocked down.

just found out, zidane wants to say sorry

Materazzi is not famous for a fair behavior during the Calcio ... Incidents involving him occur on a regular basis during the Italian Championship.

That depends on what Materazzi said actually. If he just said your mother is a whore, then it's a fair win. If he mention Algerian, Muslim, Arab, Terrorist, or any other racial term, eh! Something must be done.

What cracks me up is that the reports of what Materazzi said is according to lip readers - reliable sources of course
