Canada is a constitutional monarchy. Queen Elizabeth II is our Queen. The Governor General is the Queen's representitive in Canada. Our Governor General is the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean.

Each province has a representative of the Queen as well. They are the Lieutenant Governors. Ontario's is the Honourable James K. Bartleman.

It is the governor general and the lieutenant governors who are in charge in the provinces and the country, not the Prime Minister or the Premiers. Once a "bill" is passed by Parliament it must be signed by the Queen's representatives. If they do not agree (rarely happens) the "bill" is sent back to Parliament.

Only the Queen's representative can dissolve Parliament or the Legislatures and only the Queen's representaive can open Parliament and the legislatures.

There you go, a quick history lesson.

I issued it Max. I just was surfing one day and got a kick out of the name. So it has become my Plane of the Month. Every month there will be a new plane, along with avatar change (you can take part too in the avatar change, you are good at that ). Hope this helps.
