  • Any of you lot web designers?

    Cos I need help!!!!

Trying to use Dreamweaver to design my site but I've never used it before. Do I need fireworks and other good stuff to create the images? Any help would be greatfully received, PM me is you want.

    Cheers Fellas and Felli!

I've done a bit of dabbling in HTML and Dreamweaver. Not much though, you just have to mess around with the program and learn it. Also it helps to study some HTML code.

To create images you can use Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator for more graphics design type stuff. I have never done graphics design, so I don't know much about Illustrator.

I find that the best way to learn stuff, is just go into the program and mess around with it until you get the results you want.

I have quite a bit of experience and have done it professionally for several companies/people.

      I use Photoshop and Notepad.

      Examples of work at:

      www.cincinnatiinjurylaw.com
      www.frankvictores.com (still under construction)

Well, you can use Dreamweaver and/or EVRSOFT First Page 2006. However, I find Evrsoft easy to use yet its a powerful application. For graphics, Photoshop and Illustrator give you more edge.
Is that all you wanted to know?

          Yes!

I use Dreamweaver, but it can be quite laboursome depending on what you're planning to have on your site. I've found visual editors are much faster and effective if you're starting from scratch.

          Simple: hughmitton.com (my site)
Complex: AviationPage NZ (another site I run)

That second one uses a bunch of prewritten scripts so it's fairly simple to install and use, the only hard part is modifying it to suit your needs.

Also this helps when doing it manually: www.htmlcodetutorial.com/quicklist.html

              Not bad!

One suggestion I have is to make the images on the front page a lower quality, and also save the title as a jpeg or gif rather than png

I would suggest coming up with a bettter logo and I feel that the banner is a bit much along with the navigation bar being too big. Maybe give me some time and I'll come up with a rough draft in photoshop for you. Time as in a week, I move into college this weekend and this last week is hell.
