  • Should I change my graphics card ?

    Hey everyone !!!

I was planning to buy a new graphics card, but my friend (who works for a company that deals with graphics) gave me one of his cards for free. So I got a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900XT (a.k.a. GV-N59X128D). I am a complete dumbass when it comes to cards so I know if it is any good... right now I'm using an old ATi Radeon 9250. Is the NVIDIA one I got better thst the old radeon ?? If yes how better ? Thx for help

K I switched them and I get better visual effects - edges smooth, almost no jagies etc. but my FPS seem to be down, lower than with Radeon...kinda weird...I'll do the first flight tomorrow so expect new, better shots

I think your Radeon is the better one.

The reason the edges are smooth and your framerate slows is probably because you have anti-aliasing turned on now. Try turning it on in FS with your old card and see if it slows by the same amount.

You recommond get a Geforce 7300LE or 7900GS or Ati X300 or X600. But you need to put a higher power cord to make the graphic card work.
