  • San Antonio Texas

Anyone familiar enough with SAT to know how visiting in the Fall compares to Spring? Obviously everything will be blossoming in Spring and beginning to hibernate in the Fall. I’ve also heard the Riverwalk portion of the river is temporarily drained at some point each year. Is that true and when does that occur. I have a good opportunity to take the family there this Oct/Nov so any feedback is appreciated.
    Thank you.

If you like theme parks and rollercoasters, Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are both great. The Riverwalk is drained in January, so no worry in the fall. Fall is a lovely time to visit. For a small price you can take a ride down the river which includes a guided tour of some historical sites. Definitely see the Alamo. I grew up in Houston but I've visited San Antonio several times. The airport (SAT) is about 20-30 minutes from the Downtown/Riverwalk area.
