  • Why are you a forumite?

I wanted to pose this question to the forum members. Why do you go to the particular forums that you do? Is it because you like the people, content, forum design?

Are there any turn-offs when you visit a forum for the first time? How about a couple months down the road?

My personal experience: Forum design comes into play a lot for me. If the forum that I want to join has off colors, difficult to read text, I tend to look elsewhere. Also, content. I will join a forum, see what it's like for a couple of weeks and if I like it I will stay.

Content and people for me. Design is of little importance, as long as it is readable. Content is big, but if the forum is full of morons you'll have a bunch of moronic content.

I just like to review the threads and see what's going on. Comment here and there. Plus there's always the REALLY REALLY funny threads that you talk about with your friends on AIM that were just so pointless and stupidly posted you can't help but want to kill youself when you read them (there's much more on Anet than here though...but we have our people...trust me )

I'm still trying to find "because I have no life" as a poll option.

People of course Where else do I get to converse with an Emu? Then there are the airline pilots like AJ,Colin Parker, and LRJet Guy who are always willing to answer questions. Also the screeners who are willing to comment on rejected pictures, and seem intent on helping you improve your shots. The Administrators like Chris K, Gabe, and AJ who are willing to take advice on the site, and listen to peoples comments.

Its no surprise I come back

              Depends on the forum.

Some it is the content while others it is the people. A few it is both.

I'm not sure why I still visit the A.net forums. Probably just to see who I can annoy.

Option 5, "Have to kill time at work" .
But really, it's mainly for reading the threads, primarily in the AvDisc and OTF.

You know that this forum is only alive because people come to see me on here
                  jk

I normally join the forum if it looks easy and nice to move around.
