Killing Saddam doesn't mean people are just going to all of the sudden stop shooting at our troops.

in the global scene of world peace, it wont accomplish much overall. I doubt it'll happen at all.

martyr number 12376452390847...means very little at the end of the day, the insurgents will keep on killing, the soldiers will keep on dying, Rumsfeld will remain in his position, Bush will spin it as a positive...infact, i'd bet money that the verdict came down to coincide with the midterm elections.

when do we have a trial for Bush, Cheney, Blair, Rumsfeld, Howard & co for crimes against the Iraqi people?

        next trips
        USA/DXB August.

          Cheers to that

Number of people that Hussein was convicted of killing: 148 (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061106/...4yBHNlYwNmYw--)
Number of Iraqi civilians killed since the war to "liberate" them has begun: ~50,000 (http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opi...oped-headlines)

Yeah...they're soooo much better off now.

Is anyone really surprised at this?

I don't think this will have much effect on our elections. Republicans had a good chance after 9/11 to lead the world against terrorism, when everyone was lending support, and they fucked it up (big time). They have pissed about 3/4 of the world in one way or another, created more terrorists, and got bogged down in a dusty sand pit with no end in sight while running out of men, and recruitment going down. And the only campaign the Republicans have been able to run is the same old "ZOMG vote for us because we will keep you safer and if you vote for democrats you will all die blah blah jesus saves blah blah we hate fags blah, blah, etc, etc, etc!!!1111!!111one1!!1".

Then when you look at it, there is more hate/resentment for America and more terrorists than there were before 9/11. Shit... where the hell is Bin Laden (weren't we supposed to get him dead or alive?). We didn't get him, but we got Saddam who had nothing to do with 9/11 (Republicans said it themselves) and no nukes either. While Krazy Kim Jong Ill is over there in the DPRK bragging about his nukes, because he knows he can do whatever he wants because the US is too weak right now to do anything if he tries anything. It's gotten old, and people are starting to realize that. The Republicans had a chance, and they fucked it up, thier time's just about.

dude, we've been pissing off the world since Truman was in office. Bush and Co have just made it that much more visible.
