She has her own talk show, the media follows her. Everything gets out.

No matter how much good a person does they will always be criticized. I think it's great she does what she does. Who cares if she says something about it on TV, at least she does it.

Don't tell me if you had the money you guys wouldn't fly on a private jet. One of my neighbors is very wealthy and is a National TV Peronality. He flies in a private jet and flies on Delta. Who cares how they fly. One reason they fly privately is so people don't bother them. I don't think you realize how much attention these people get. I did a photo story on this guy and everywhere he went he had fans come up and talk to him, even while he was eating dinner with his family. Flights are actually sometimes the only time they get privacy and can relax and do what they need to do. The way they fly has nothing to do with who they are, he's the one of the nicest people I've ever met and is all about his family and our community. Alot of people in my town fly in private jets actually, but that doesn't change who they are.

How many of you actually donate to charities (and I'm not talking the Salvation Army bell ringers)? While you may not be able to donate 10 million dollars every penny counts, and you guys are ripping on the people who help. Who cares if they mention it on their show. Oprah did not ask for the media attention for her new school, it's a HUGE deal. Because of where she put it and the cause it goes to, not because of who built it. Those people in South Africa are so greatful it's unbelievable.

Your right, everything does benefit Oprah in some way. It benefits her self-esteem and she can go to bed every night knowing she did the world good. Her reward is seeing the families she built houses from Katrina for when they first saw their new houses. Did you see that episode? How about when she went into a high school with her TV crews for a "Challenge Day" and completely turned the high school around and got the kids to stop bullying one another. Did you see that episode? She does things of such great proportion she'll no doubt get attention. If you donated a million dollars you'd get it to, it's just how life goes.

So stop hating people you don't know for no reason. She gives back to the people who made her what she is. If you don't like it that's fine, there's no need to bash someone for it.

While I personally don't like Bono for his 24/7 political whining, I gotta give him credit on 2 things though: First, as far as not paying taxes to his government goes, the list of celebs that do that is endless, and second, he is less annoying than Bob Geldorf .

If I actually had the money, I would probably be even more cautious about money than I already have and still fly regular airlines. Sure, for longhauls I'd probably invest the additional money for BizE, but that's still cheaper than renting a BBJ.

Exactly, onboard the flights. But that would be no real difference between a private jet and a regular flight. As a celebrity, you would be followed everywhere regardless of regular terminal or GA terminal. And once onboard the plane, if you are in the front cabin, you are seperated from the "audience" anyway.

Our company donates €0,10 for every article sold to SOS Kinderdörfer. Looks like a small sum, but multiplied by a few 1000 cartridges, it adds up. Besides that, I refrain from donating to most charities, because quite frankly, I could never be sure for what exactly my money would actually be used, or whether it'd be used at all.

Well I know sometimes it is actually cheaper to fly privately. Round trip CVG-LGA on Delta is $1528 First Class. I saw a bill at my neighbors house for MarquisJet CVG-TEB-CVG...$1300. Tell me which makes more sense then.

But that wasn't for a BBJ. I'm pretty surprised she would have flown something that big. Doesn't she own a Gulfstream? I guess she had a lot of people going with her (camera crews or something I would assume)
Either way, it doesn't matter how she got there. Oprah has all of those companies so they're probably paying for it. I don't know why when somebody tries to do something good for the poor people always have to think "oh they're only doing it for themselves" instead of the fact that maybe they actually just want to do something decent.

My, my there are some rather "heated debates" on the pro's and con's of her project. For me personally, it shows up the "efficiency" of our government to provide what is a constitutional right to our children. Our government would rather spend billions on "toys" as opposed to things like education, health and the criminal justice systems. Of course the powers that be in parliment will laud her actions as it's money they did not have to spend.

Also, she operates with many more zero's behind, than the likes of us. So, if she's got it, spend it - PS: as per the details on my pic - N54OW is (was) supposedly in for maintenance.
