  • What feature in Windows Vista annoys you?

When I first installed it, having it ask me if I wanted to continue every 30 seconds drove me nuts.

Once I worked out how to turn the User Access Control off I am happy with it.

I honestly can't think of a more useless, resource hogging feature then Aero, I hate it

I have a free upgrade. Should I use it? FSX performance is a big factor.

              Vista

In Australia Microsoft released a version of Vista this is half the price of what it is. This version is mainly aimed at students etc.

Home Premium is usually A$455, but the academic version is A$179.

Although it is an upgrade, you can make it do a clean install.

                  Vista

So Microsoft does not have a similar sort of thing in other countries and students etc have to pay full price?

The academic Version is a lot like the upgrade editions which really limits your ability to upgrade your computer. Also Since I'm not a student it makes it kinda hard to get the academic version.

                        Vista

When I bought it, no one asked to see a student card or anything.

My dad bought MS Word 2003 Student & Teacher edition, no questions asked. I wasn't with him. He's not a student, and it's very obvious he isn't a teacher in just about any situation...

I'm on the same boat as bok. I'm getting a free upgrade to Vista Home Premium, but i don't know if i should use it.

1.61 AMD Turion 64x2 (dual core)
                          1GB RAM
                          100GB HD
128 MB graphics card (not integrated)

go to a mass market shop or something like that...i haven't been a uni student in more than 8 years and they didn't ask me for any form of card.

Vista would annoy me for two reasons:

                              1) It's so safe and foolproof it annoys those of us who aren't fools

                              2) The extra PC power it eats, therefore starving programs which need it more like BF2
