Probably around 75-80mph. From that angle you can't really tell how much the car was around the tree. Although the frame held up pretty well, the body took most of the hit and everything was bent, where not even the trunk closed properly.

hah yeah, should put "OWNND" on the bottom of the picture one of these days haha

as for the control. Your supposed to turn the wheel in the direction the rear of the car is going towards AKA the skid. If you have a RWD car then hitting the gas to control the skid would just be stupid, it would spin you even more. With a FWD car hitting the gas can regain traction a little bit, but can easy make you lose control of the car once the traction is regained and the back comes out again, if not controlled it will eventually lead you in a spin until something like a tree stops you........Like in my case.

I accidentally spun my car once, did a 360 ended up facing the right direction and drove away, the traffic cam in the intersection went off when I spun past it. I always wonder what they thought when they saw the picture.

3 times then hitting the guard rail? Scary stuff there, Paul!

I've never had anything like that happen to me. The closest I've come to an emergency was my first driving lesson, the car wouldn't start, the instructors wife had to come jump start it. I drive for 3 minutes then I notice the car is acting funny. I tell him something isn't right, the speedometer reads 0 and we're going about 25, then the gas guage goes to 0, then the shift locks and the hazzards and radio won't opperate. So we have to stop, in a left turn lane at a light in a busy intersection-in front of a Fire Station Driveway. Windows wont go down as they're powered, and we have to fish out the power lock to open the doors, and all the cars are honking and flipping us off as we have no way to indicate for them to go around. We sit for about 5 minutes when finally someone on the phone tells us to jam a pencil in this hole next to the shift and that unlocks it, then some firemen help us push it across the intersection and over to the side.

Another instructor comes, trys to jumpstart the car, but more than the batterry had died on this thing. He gives us a ride back to the driving school, we get in a new car, IT WON'T START! We have to jumpstart it. Then I drive to my house, about 7 minutes. And the 2 hour lesson has ended.

That was my first time behind the wheel of a car.

Well as some of you remember I used to drive an old BMW 5. Just sold it. I really don't care about if the car is cool or not. As long as I like it.

Is it one of the newer MPVs with the sliding doors or one of the ones with the standard rear doors?
Its 2001 with sliding doors. Easier to open on a parking lot:

At least I could fit 8 people inside when going to the cottage
I've been saving money for a new car. In october or november I should get something "better"...

Anywayyyy what they teach you in tests does nto always work. i f i turned in the direction of the slide then obviously I the car would ahve flipped over and I wouldn't be writing this now. So I'm pretty sure I did the right thing, trying to save both my car and my butt.
Oh and I'm not trying to impress my girl with an MPV. I sold my BMW and cannot aford a new car so I ahve to drive my mom's minivan. But she doesn't care. if I wanted to impres her i would probably take my dad's 300C Hemi...

In 2001 I was driving on a tollway in Houston in a rain storm (okay it was a Tropical Storm that dumped 21 inches) . I was driving in a curve when I hit a puddle, causing my car to hydroplane and begin spinning. I spun about 3 times before finally hitting the outer guard rain, and somehow no other cars! The damage didn't look too severe but it bent the rear axle slightly, so it was "totaled" and I never drove it again.
