  • I need your help with Thai food

    Hello everyone,
Well so tomorrow I am invited for a lunch to a Thai Restaurant. It sounds cool, going with friends etc. But back to my point, I have never been to a Thai restaurant before, have never tried Thai food and don't know much about it. Since this forum is being accessed by users from different parts of the world, I hope to get some help. Which meal is the best to order and which ones I should not try. Also is Thai food spicy or more sweet ? Do they eat a lot of meet or maybe vegetables ? Any help will be appreciated.

Usually the whole point of trying something new is to see what it's like. It's usually pretty spicy if I remember it right.

Thai food is good, fusion of Indian and Chinese I guess is the way to call it. I usually have Thai red or Green Curry, as these tend to be most similar to Indian Curry. They don't seem too spicy hot to me, although I do like spicy food.

LOL not even Chinese? I'd say you're missin out dude. I haven't had Thai in about 2 years though. I remember I wasn't impressed by the last place I had it at, but that was probably just the restaurant. Other times I've had it I remember it being pretty good.

We eat Thai all the time. That's what happens when you marry somerone who is a fabulous cook. Thai, like Indian can be all different grades of spicy. If you like spicy Mexican or Indian go with spicy Thai, if your digestive system doesn't like spicy too much go a little lighter.

Do you like shrimp and prawns? I always order Thai food that has shrimp and prawns since I like them.

Crab Rangoon, satay (a mainstay), paid thai, rad na, pad see ew.. you can't go wrong. Any good thai restaurant will let you select (normally on a scale of 0-5) how spicy you want your food. I always go less spicy; thai food is naturally exploding with flavor as it is, and I don't see the point in covering that up with a bunch of hot spices.

Some threads just make me laugh.

You're the one who knows what you like, read the menu and ask questions. That's what your waiter/waitress is there for.

What's the point of posting a reply, if it does not answer the question being asked ?

Anyway back to topic it was good, maybe too sweet. Had some chicken with sweet peanuts and shrimp wraps. And of course the green tea. Not too bad but I still prefer European food
