  • Couple tried to name baby "@"

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese couple tried to name their baby "@", claiming the character used in e-mail addresses echoed their love for the child, an official trying to whip the national language into line said on Thursday.

they obviously spend way too much time on the internet so yourname@ whatever.com (for example) means yourname loves whatever .com?

I think I'd almost rather be named @ than Apple. Key word being almost.

That'd be kind of cool, especially if you ended up with a career in showbiz. Everyone gets teased at some point anyway.

But in the real job world, probably wouldn't fly.

Exactly. Like you hear of all these celebrities and even non-celebrities giving their kids these weird names like Apple, etc., and the names may sound cute when they are a baby and toddler, but once you get into business it sounds stupid.

Oh.. since that name is taken now, I will call my kid "Ironhide" ...

And if he likes airplane, a more suitable name for him would be StarScream
