  • An unusual flight

I dont think this fits in the flight review section as she is by no stretch of the imagination a commercial aeroplane but mods feel free to move if it is better there. I am good freinds with the owner of the lovely aeroplane and he came up to me on the fence and offerd me a flight, would i say no. After all it is not every day you get to fly in an aeroplane built in 1945 for the Luftwaffa.

Here she is in all her glory:

    Landing after her flying display:

Once the end of the display my turn came, the gentleman on the wing is the owner and is helping the previous passenger out before waving me over.

    On the threshold:

Now how many people a day look out onto these markings:

Crossing the threashold of Old Warden:

And tucking her away in the hanger safely, last job to clean her down:

Thats off the chain. I'm jelious, I'd love to fly in a Luftwaffe aircraft (especially the Bf 109) but I'd say the closest I'll ever get is through flight simulation.

I take it you dont live in Germany? Because I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have swasticka's on Nazi warbirds over there.

It's illegal to have Swastikas on anything, period . Unless of course you're a Hollywood company with the money to pay of the authorities so you can use Swastikas for a film in which a retarded Scientologists gets to play one of the most famous guys that tried to assasinate Hitler, but I digress.

Anyway, pretty good looking bird, and congrats on getting the chance to fly on it .

It is the same type, Bucker Bu181 Bestmann.

The Swashstika i thoguht was allowed to be carried over here (England) with permission from the German Air Force. I know it is banned in Germany period on flying aeroplanes.
