    Very true. With most modern cars, you can't even replace a light bulb in your headlights without first having to take out half the engine, which really is just one big block encased in plastic anyway .

    I suggest picking up a shop manual for your particular truck. I bet it's pretty cheap at your local parts store or even E-bay.

    I cant help you much without crawling under the engine. However, the older the engine, the easier to work on. I just got a new '72 350 V8 that will get my empty 3/4 ton up 60 mph in about 12 seconds. There is also so much working room under the hood that I can crawl in

    I am going to be sad in a way when, hopefully, I buy my brand new Chevy Silverado next year
