Please take a moment today to offer a prayer for the families of those who fell victim to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York, and the Pentagon. And those brave souls aboard UA Flight 93. Also for those brave firefighters who responded to the WTC attack. Thanks N.Y.F.D. and N.Y.P.D.!
Cannot forget the day. Was Watching cartoons on an Italian TV Station when suddenly: BREAKING NEWS and saw the tower on fire... I thought... Woah Was the pilot blind not to see the tower, but then suddenly I saw the other plane hitting in. Then I was shocked when I heard about the Pentagon and the other plane crash.
May God Rest the souls onboard the flights and those that died on the ground and give them a straight passage to Heaven, as these people lost their lives innocently, due to the madness and disrespect of other people, if you can call those terrorists 'people'.
RIP To all and lets hope that 11th september won't be rembered as the devil's day due to this occurence but will become a normal day.
I bow down my head and HOPE that this thing won't never happen again as this was a disgrace to humanity.
I was in math class when over rhe intercom the principal said that we should have a moment of silence because a plane had crashed into a building in New York. I remember thinking that a small Cessna had gotten lost and accidentally crashed into some skyscraper in NYC. Then i remember that a friend had seen it a was wondering why such a small plane had caused so much comotion until he said that it was a big plane not some small private plane. And to those conspiracy theorists who belive it was all set up, you need to get a better thing to put your beliefs to. Unicorns are more realistic that the Government purposly killing 3,000 tax paying innocent citizens.
Yeah, I remember it as well. I was pretty early in my flight training. My instructor and I were calling to get my first weather briefing. We had the phone on speaker. When we got tot he NOTAMs part, the briefer said that all flight operations in the US have been temporarily stopped due to something happening in NY. At the time I didn't think much of it, we just continued our preparation, but decided to turn the TV on.
And also, this shouldn't need to be said, but if anyone turns this thread political, from either side of the political spectrum, the best you can hope for is a warning. There is a time and place for everything, and today is not a time for politics. Again, I shouldn't have to say it, but....

Today is the six year anniversary of the terrorist attacks. This thread goes out to all those who died in those attacks and all those who are dying every day trying to protect our freedom. I remember where I was on 9/11/01. I was in my fourth grade classroom doing work when my school was put on code red. The principal said that our country has been attacked. No one was allowed in the school or out. No one was allowed out of the classroom. Where were you on the day that made American history.

I remember watching it in music class in 5th grade. By the time the teacher turned the TV on tower 2 was already gone but I remember seeing the last one collapse live. It was a weird feeling realizing they were gone forever. The whole thing didn't really sink in until later. Really sunk in when I saw people jumping later on TV. I couldn't get those pictures out of my head for the next few days. It was just too much to see at that age.
I remember being in 8th grade outside at football practice that morning and we always had the radio on when we came back into the locker room. We didn't really know what to make of it at first, but when we got into school, our principal informed us on what was going on. Needless to say we didn't do any work in the rest of our classes that day, as each teacher either had a tv on in their room or the radio. I remember in one of our classes we went to the room next door and watched it in there. It was about an hour or so after the collapses, but that was the first time we saw it.
The skies were eerily quiet for the next few days. It was really weird looking up and not seeing planes in the sky being that we were only about 60 miles south of the D/FW metroplex.
I was driving today and some dumbf*ck called the radio I was listening to and went on the line talkinga bout 9/11 "from the other side of it". Seriously people some respect. You can talk about it every otehr day but 9/11. Really pissed me off and made me turn the radio off.
6 years ago I was in Poland and I remember I was having my last class taht day (time difference) and the principal went on PA and said taht due to the tragedy in NY we are all dismissed. As soona s I arrived home my mom was watching CNN and i saw the first tower collapse. Was really shocking and even though I was young I knew how big of a tragedy it was. May everyone R.I.P. and may such tragedy never happen again.

I was getting ready to leave for a Political Science class at Texas A&M when Fox News broke in to say a plane had hit the World Trade Center. At first it looked like nothing but a tragic accident so I was still going to go to class and was putting on my shoes. I noticed on the TV another plane go flying behind the burning tower. I wasn’t paying close attention and assumed it was just a jet heading to JFK, LGA, or EWR but a moment later I noticed it never reemerged from behind the towers. A moment later the feed switched to show both towers on fire and then it was obvious that this was a terrorist attack.
I didn’t make it to class (didn’t matter since the prof dismissed it and everyone stood in the hall watching the TVs) and then I found out my boss’ brother was at a meeting at the WTC that day. Once a year he flew up from Houston to attend this meeting at their NYC offices. Turns out he was on the floor that AA Flight 11 struck so to this day they never found him.
I remember that day well. Throughout the morning school administrators were going around making sure the emergency contact info they had was good, etc. We had no idea what had happened. Rumor was that there was a plane crash in PA. I thought nothing of the administrators going around as I figured it was normal start of year paperwork. At around 1100 we were in gym, and had just chosen teams for a game we were about to play. We never played. We were then sheapharded into the auditorium, where the administrators were waiting. We were told that a plane had hit the WTC and that it was one of 3-4 plane crashes that day. We were not to go home without a parent, and whenever they arrived we could go home. Several of my classmates had parents who worked in the WTC, and needless to say they were upset. It took be until the end of lunch to realize what significance that day would have. We had no idea what was going on. We didn't know if it was an attack or a problem with the air around lower Manhattan or just an accident. My friends and I decided that at least the Pentagon was an attack. We still hadn't realized the scale of what just happened.
As a New Yorker, the events of the day hit hard. My town lost several residents, including the father of a classmate. My little brother's future friend also lost his father on that day. It's a day I will never forget. Rest in peace to those who were killed.
I was having a relaxing evening (time difference, being in Sydney), watching TV1 and playing around on the computer, when someone yelled out to turn over to a news channel, so I changed to Fox News Channel. This was just after the first plane had hit. Like most other people, I'd thought it was just an accident, vaguely remembering that a plane had once crashed into the Empire State Building, due to fog. It wasn't until the second plane hit that I experience that blood curdling chill come over me.
Suffice to say, I was up the rest of the night and all through the next day.
We were just finished with our soccer training. A bunch of us decided to stop by our coache's house, two went out to buy some pizza, I turned on the tv, and saw the building burning, seconds after I turned on the tv, the second tower got hit. I was shocked, it was unbelievable. All of us walked around in the living room, keeping an eye on the tv, a big question mark ? was over our head.. What was going on...
It was such a tragedy. May those who died at 9/11/01 rest in peace..

As I was going to eat breakfast that morning I saw my dad watching TV. Once I saw the tower burning, I overheard them saying that it was a small plane that had crashed itno it by accident so I didn't think much of it. Shortly after I witnessed the second tower being hit live on TV. At that point I new that something was going on. Unlike most of you guys, we weren't able to watch TV at school so I found out about everything else when I got home later that day.
