Don't get your hopes up. I bought FSX deluxe...it wasn't more than 2 months until I uninstalled it and put FS9 back on my computer. No squakbox, no AFCAD, no TTools, its too early for FSX.

Well, I'm coming from FS2002. But yeah, there's a SDK on disc one I've been meaning to check out. Personally, though, I've never designed aircraft or scenery. Just never learned. The multicrew cockpit feature (on the multiplayer) is what I really was looking forward to with FSX. The scenery is pretty nice, but I had to crank it waaay down to make it work with this system, and even then it's still pretty choppy. But I'm upgrading my system soon anyhow.

Best of luck with it. What are your system specs?

1.45 gHz AMD Athlon XP-M, 704MB RAM, video card...couldn't figure out what the video specs were when I was installing haha. But it obviously isn't enough video memory. It's just a laptop, not the best thing for these things, but I was itching to try it.

I saw FS2004 for really cheap, I think I'll get it as a stop gap until I get a better system.

Yeah id reccomend going up to 1 gb of ram. But you should be able to pull decent FPS.

I enjoy my FS2004 on my system running smoothly with all sliders maxed getting 25 fps. I installed FSX, and uninstalled it immediately. Plus with all the add-ons for FS2004 it's amazing. Every airport I fly in and out of has a scenery installed and I really get no performance hit at all.

There is a way to do it on Mac and Linux, but I am not sure how. Bootcamp maybe?
