  • RWC 2007 - Semi's

Well, well after all the drama with the quarters, the weekend is looming and the semi's are upon us. The dust in New Zealand and Australia is busy settling and we gear up for the clash of North vs South in the final.

So, can England pull off another one ? In France, against les Froggies.... One thing I am certain of is that England's optimism is commended, but they are going to have to go all out to beat France. They have nothing to loose insofar as they did not expect to beat Australia (if the truth be told). Therefore they have progressed beyong expectation. They will not beat France by being conserative - they cannot afford to play France's game.

That leaves SA vs Argentina. We have never lost to Argentina - ever. Close result on one occasion. That does not mean that I do not rate Argentina and the wonderful tournament they have had so far. If I did not think we could beat Argentina, then I should not be putting my 2 cents worth on the forum.

So, that leaves the final - Who would I rather see in the final against SA - heart says England (coz it would be the "easier" game), but head says France. Could we beat France in the final - of course - but would we beat them ? Now that will be an interesting game....

PS: What trophy is played for 7th and 8th place in RWC 2007 - Bledisloe Cup

to much kicking from Fred....they had a golden opportunity for a try late in the game and I thought we were through. Chabal came on to early but that was impossible to negate due to injury concerns. Will be a great game tonight, I expect Argentina to fair very well and possible that they will come away with the win.
