Planes & Ditchlights??

Ok stupid question i know!

But the other day I was going down the road when I see a plane with front lights blinking. I seriously didnt know they had ditchlights...Is this common?

I know they have blinking Red & Green lights but this was the headlights!

Since you're in Louisville chances are it was a Southwest planes. They equip their planes with these lights to increase visibility of them.
