"Snowmachine" sounds like something that ought to get rid of the stuff!

      j/k

Looks like fun. I just got back from Park City and enjoyed the great snow there.

Don't you know? He's the self-proclaimed lone photographer from Alaska

By the way, aren't those supposed to be called snowmobiles? The first thing I associate with "snowmachine" is snow removal.

Colin: We dont stop for anything

Mike and Avro: What you are thinking of is a snowblower

Cam: I live in Haines Alaska, northern part of the panhandle.

Oh, and Avro, I am the lone photographer from HAINES, not Alaska.

Alot of the snow shown came from a nice big dump of about three feet in 24 hours

              Yes I'm aware of that

It's just that I've never heard someone refer a snowmobile as a snowmachine.

The panhandle should be Canadian....actually all of Alaska should be. LOL

Great pictures Alec and around central Ontario we call them "snowmachines" too.

Nope. Unless you have a helicopter, there isnt much riding you can do. We usually go into Canada and go riding. However, in the past couple years the snowfall has been rapidly increasing, giving us alot more riding oppurtunities closer to home.

When you cross the border, do you have to go through a border guard living in a small shed or can you just go straight through?

It is a pretty big border crossing with about 10 different guards living in a community up there. We get alot of commercial trucks coming through, and on Mondays the Bellingham ferry comes in full of Military people relocating to Anchorage or Fairbanks. They stay pretty busy.
