  • Any Raleigh, NC knower abouters?

Never been before. What's this place like? Where are the good hole in the wall seafood restaraunts? I will have to go to Nags head later on in the week, so I get to see Kitty Hawk

If you're going to the outerbanks, save your seafood experience until you get there. The fish will not get any fresher!

Also, if you've never been hang-gliding, Kitty Hawk is a wonderful place to try it (as long as the weather is decent and the hand-gliding lessons are running in January, both of which may not hold true).

Can't help much on Raleigh, though.

Yes, save your appetite for seafood for the OBX. Make sure you try some Eastern Carolina BBQ while you're in the Raleigh area. It's a most likely a little different than what you might think of as bbq, generaly slow smoked pulled pork, with a light vinager/hot pepper sauce, served on a bun or chopped on a plate.

Looks like Kitty Hawk Kites does run at least some of their hang gliding lessons during the winter. I also see they offer a 2000' tandem lesson as well and a 5000' tandem tow launch. While I enjoyed the lessons, if I were doing it again, I would go for one of the tandem flights -- sounds cool.

Sweetheart, this is a great forum for offbeat eateries....use the search for the areas that you'll be in. I always check it out before I travel 'cause I hate chains, and I love eating local food (although I'm a dead President).
