Something I've been thinking about from time to time...

If space is infinite and ever-expanding, what is it expanding into?

Given the definition of infinite, can this statement be true?

Not unless you think in more than three dimensions.

No because space is not infinite. Space itself is expanding from a finite volume to a larger but still finite volume.

Why bother, we arenīt even selling tickets to the Moon yet. I think the Pan Am waiting list is defunct now with the company....

I used to wonder about that when I was younger.

Have you tried 'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawkings or perhaps even "A Short History of Nearly Everything' by Bill Bryson?
Two very different styles but they make good places to start in answering or explaining some of the universe's questions.

When we talk about the universe expanding, what we mean is that objects in the universe are getting further apart - the length scale is changing. If you can hold on to that idea, and not think about the universe as if it is some "thing" that has an edge, you will be heading in the right direction.

I like being talked down to. Thanks for dumbing it down for me.
