My Audi A6 was the worse car I ever had, problem after problem after problem, replaced it with another German car which is marginally better.

I'm on my 2nd Jetta (3rd VW) and my middle car was an electrical pig. Lights blew all the time, but the best time was when the mechanic leaned on the wet car and got a shock. The front lights were shorting out and he couldn't figure out the problem. The night the drivers seat caught fire (3 am actually)when I was driving down the highway was quite exciting.

So true. Audis and VWs here are notorious for electrical issues. From my brother, who worked in service at a dealerishp, the problem comes from the engineers using a certain anti-rust coating, which tends to preclude proper grounding of any part of the electrical system. Short circuits galore, or just mysteriously failing systems.

Just call her at 10:45pm and tell her you're sleeping over at a friends house because the Audi broke down. That way you'd also have an excuse in case the Audi would actually break down.

    Or apart, that is.
