Some of you may know that my niece (Carlie) has Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease and affects over 8,000 people in the UK. Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.
· Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.
· Each week, three young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.
Average life expectancy is around 31 years, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live for longer.
The more money that is donated to the CF Trust http://www.cftrust.org.uk increases the likelihood of a cure being found for this disease. This year my brother-in-law will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for the continuing research into finding a cure. What he needs are sponsors, the more the merrier.
So if you can spare anything at all could I please ask you to follow this link http://www.justgiving.com/martin_ohare . All donations are secure and sent electronically to Cystic Fibrosis Trust. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will automatically reclaim 28% Gift Aid on your behalf, so your donation is worth even more. Please join me in supporting Cystic Fibrosis Trust and a fabulous cause.
On a par to this activity and generally because I am not fit enough to run 26 yards let alone miles I am using some of my contacts to raise money as well. Some of you may be interested to know that Jason Plato (Touring Car Champion) will be sending me some merchandise to auction on ebay. SEAT Sport have also said they would send a load of stuff though too. When it arrives and is up on ebay i will let you know the link.
Thanks For Your Support!!!!
